With a vast range of colours and brands to choose from, it would be hard not to find your ideal look. Quality and prices vary from different colours and different brands. Please see below for a rough guide to pricing. Although a full wrap using some brands and colours may cost as much as a traditional respray, changing back to the original colour is as easy as peeling the vinyl from the vehicle.
The process of a full colour change wrap to a vehicle is between 3-5 days. A minimum of 3 days is required as follows:
Day 1: Wash, degrease & prep.
Day 2+: Fit desired colour wrap.
Final Day: Reassemble & leave the wrap to rest for 24hrs in the same climate it was installed.
Once all the cleaning, degreasing and removal of small fixings has taken place, then the wrapping can begin. Removal or trims, door handles, etc. allows the edges of the wrap to be hidden, therefore giving the effect of seamless colour and also protecting the edges of the wrap when washing.
Thanks to advances in vinyl car wrap technology, it’s no longer prohibitively expensive to completely change the look of your car. Going the professional route, vinyl car wrapping can cost as much as a paint job, but the very nature of vinyl car wrap lends itself to temporary applications. With proper care, a quality car wrap can last five to seven years, perhaps longer. Basic color changes, even multiple colors, don’t add much to the overall cost of the project, but custom graphics, prints, or finishes may increase the cost of materials. Still, the finished product can be particularly stunning.
Having a partial wrap like a roof, bonnet or rear doors can add a certain style to your vehicle. Depending on the amount you want wrapped, this could be done in one day. You may have chrome finishes you wish to be coloured or a coloured car which you may like a gloss black roof, the choices are endless.
Please note: Wrapping vinyl is quite thin (approx. 0.07mm) and although it is opaque and covers any colours underneath, deep scratches or laquer peel would still be visible. Basically, if you can feel it to the touch then it will probably show through.
Congratulations on your new vinyl vehicle wrap! Taking care of it will help it last a long time. Depending on the type and location, a vinyl car wrap can last up to ten years. There are some key steps to keeping your vinyl wrap in great condition. Following these will allow you to enjoy your new look and show it off to your family & friends with pride.
